Racism turns to Barbarism

“I can’t breathe, raise your legs, officer!! Are you trying to kill me?” Craving to live George Floyd, a black man, fell to his death under the pressure of the white police officer after 9 minutes of talking. Yes, you know about this tragic event.

The incident took place on May 25, 2020 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, example of barbarism. Thousands of men and women have come out to the streets to protest this brutal murder of George Floyd. Not only black people are protesting, countless white people are also taking part in the protests.

The issue that came up with the assassination of George Floyd was racism. Racism is nothing new. The day when George Floyd is being trampled to death, the total number of deaths for corona virus in America has reached one million. No one has ever been on the road due to death for corona virus, but on that day, people broke all barriers of the lock down curfew, removed the masks, removed the social distance, disregarded the corona virus; the protesting people came down the road only for the death of one person. There is humiliation in killing George Floyd.

There was the brutality of killing the black George Floyd, not treating him as a human being. In the so-called most developed democracies of the world, such heinous incidents of human rights violations have caused a stir all over the world.

We still hide some of the barbarism of the primitive age in our civilization, keeping the vengeful mentality in our minds. We are still applying that brutal thinking. So we do not hesitate to beat and eventually kill people on the basis of religion, caste, language, food, dress and ideology. Corona viruses, cholera, floods, hurricanes, and earthquakes kill thousands of people due to natural disasters, but torture, murder and rape are due to human moral degradation. The infamous neglected George Floyd has occasionally been martyred in various countries to show how much brutality people have; they lost their humanity by falling prey to bigotry or racism.
We know that our future is most critical.

Yet we dream that this nation will be awakened, and people’s faith will be evaluated. Racial discrimination will end. All people are equal at birth.
